I grew up in North Dakota with blue-collar parents who gave me a work ethic I still run on. I moved to California with no connections, no safety net, and an engineering degree that had nothing to do with consumer brands. What I had was a clear vision and a stubborn commitment to executing it.
Thirty years later I've led brand strategy at Oakley, adidas, TaylorMade, K-Swiss, Schutt Sports, Arena, and Ashworth — built my own premium apparel company from scratch, ran it profitably for ten years, sold it to a VC firm.
I've held executive roles spanning brand strategy, product development, marketing, business development, and global sales across three continents. I wrote the book on what makes brands Visionary. Literally. Then I wrote another one about the leaders who build them.
I lead LiquidMind LLC, my brand strategy advisory firm, where I work directly with founders and brand leaders building visionary, category-defining businesses. Every engagement is led by me personally.
"The journey from North Dakota to Oakley wasn't a straight line. It was thirty years of showing up, executing, and refusing to let the brand vision get diluted."

A personal introduction — who I am, what I've built, and how I think about brand strategy, leadership, and building something that lasts.
